Horse Wanted. I am looking for a horse to ride and lead my children from (4 and 6). I would be looking for a 16h ish that wants to retire to a gentler life hacking out say 2-4 times a week, (that is sensible but not dull!) that will not go mad if I dont ride for a week, and will do 1-2 half days a month hunting next season. We are farmers and the horse would be kept at home, we have plenty of space good stabling. I would ideally want to loan but would consider to buy. LOST - Has anybody, by any chance, picked up 2 riding whips that we left on the ground at the Opening Meet on Saturday 31 October. We left them on the triangle of grass at the start of the bridleway from the Wappenham - Lois Weedon road that goes to Greens Park about ½ mile from Wappenham. One is an ordinary everyday whip with some green tape on it and the other one is a nice dark brown, plaited leather whip with a silver band round it, which I would hate to lose as it was a racing memento. If anyone was kind enough to pick them up, could they ring Jenny Pidgeon on 01295 768237
NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - 8 March 2010
Please be aware that there has been a rise in the number of local burglaries / break-ins, plus one Horsewatch member has reported her horse was plaited a week ago.
If this happens to you report it to your local Police and also e-mail Claire Salmon claire.salmon@northants.pnn.police.uk to advise her. Although Travellers have been known to plait horses' manes it has also been reported that the perpetrators may be local young people wanting to give people with horses a shock.
However you should remain vigilant and check all fences / gates etc for any other marking [remove any you find] /alterations / weakening to fencing, gates or hedges etc. Don't leave head collars, wheelbarrows etc about.
Stolen. 110 defender double cab landrover (CV06 CXM) was stolen last night (15.01.10) from Bugbrooke if any one sees/or knows anything please could they let me know. Also please be aware.! John Webb 07721 976864
Stolen Dogs The father of my Gamekeeper, Paul Seaton, had his two working cocker spaniels stolen from the kennel by his house on New Year's Eve. He had just taken them for a walk, put them back in the kennel and gone into his house to make a cup of tea. Within a few minutes they had gone! Anyone who has shot here will remember seeing them work. I attach a poster with a photo of them. Their markings are very distinctive, so they should be easily recognisable. Because of this, it is probable that the thieves will move them out of this area, so they could reappear anywhere.
Sadly, it seems that theft of working dogs is becoming increasingly common. I now realise what a terrible effect it has on those affected. Our whole shooting community is deeply shocked, angry and determined to get the dogs back. We are also keen to ensure this does not happen again. Could I please ask that you spread the details of these two dogs as widely as possible in your area, and please put up the poster depending on where you are you may need to add North Bucks after Claydon). Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.
