For those who are new to hunting mounted we operate a newcomers’ scheme as follows:

 
*         Autumn hound exercising provides an opportunity to meet members of the hunt and to get your horse used to riding in company.

 *        You can enjoy your first days hunting for a donation of £10.

 *        A further three days hunting is available for a total cost of £100.

 *        All types of practical help are constantly required by the hunt in organising its events.  Help in this way may be set against a hunt subscription.

 *        Arrangements will be made to make sure you are looked after by a more experienced follower and to ensure you are made to feel truly welcome.

It may come as a surprise, but nationwide there are more people who follow hounds on foot, by car or bicycle than follow on horseback.  The Grafton is no exception, with a thriving band of supporters and a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join for a day, or on a more regular basis.  

A day following the hounds provides the opportunity for as much exercise as you wish to take, unparalleled access to the countryside and the spectacle of the hounds hunting their fox in its natural environment. There is no charge, although a voluntary donation would of course be most welcome, provided you have enjoyed your day.

The Grafton hounds meet every Tuesday and Saturday and occasional Thursdays during the season which lasts from September to March; the meets are published on this website under meet card (click here). No prior arrangements are necessary, but if you would like further information or to be put in touch with someone who would act as a guide and a friendly face on your first day please email info@graftonhunt.co.uk and we will be delighted to help.
